Research Agenda

EA psychologists pursue research on many topics, including effective giving, EA community building, and cause areas like animal welfare. One direction of EA psychology research is improving the future. Below is a research agenda, "Psychology for Effectively Improving the Future", created by Lucius Caviola, Joshua Lewis, Matti Wilks, Abigail Novick Hoskin, and Stefan Schubert.

The agenda outlines research questions aimed at generating insights about human psychology and behavior that can guide and assist the longtermism project. Many of our research questions and topics in this agenda (morality, rationality, cognitive biases) apply to effective altruism more broadly.
